Clean Energy 4 Africa is proud to announce the release of our “Guide to Solar Energy in Sudan” booklet.

“The Guide to Solar Energy in Sudan” is the first booklet of its kind in Sudan that targets consumer awareness at a “grass root” level, proudly developed by Clean Energy 4 Africa, and supported by several of the largest solar energy companies in the country.

The idea behind this booklet is to address the knowledge and data gaps in Sudan that hinder the development of the solar energy sector. Over the past few years, demand for solar energy solutions by Sudanese homeowners, businesses, and farms has been rising and as a result, a lot of new companies entered the market. In order to support the sustainable growth of this market and to enhance consumer trust in solar energy solutions, there is a need for specialized knowledge and awareness initiatives, and this is where the “Guide to Solar Energy in Sudan” booklet comes in.

The Guide includes the following contents:

  • An introduction to solar energy and its role in achieving sustainable development
  • An overview of the status of the solar energy market in Sudan
  • Description of components of solar energy systems
  • Overview of solar applications suitable for Sudanese consumers
  • A technical guide for solar energy systems in homes and farms (in a simplified language), which includes: energy conservation & efficiency, how to select appropriate appliances, site assessment, criteria for selecting the competent company, assessing quality, system maintenance, and operation, environment, health, and safety
  • The first-ever directory of solar energy companies in Sudan

The Guide was officially inaugurated in a hybrid event held on March 31st, 2022 at the headquarters of 249Startups- one of the leading startup incubators in Sudan.

This Guide was developed by Clean Energy 4 Africa and has been peer-reviewed by several experts in the solar industry in Sudan and regionally.

We are thankful to Jinko Solar – the Gold Partner for this Guide – for their generous support.
