Speaking at the ceremony were Dr. Ratibah Abdel Gadir Al Haj, Head of the National Energy Center, Dr. Hadeel Al Ameen, Head of the Scientific Research department within NERC along with Dr. Mohamed Alhaj, Founder & Director of Clean Energy 4 Africa and Engineer Samia Faisal, Chief Research & Development Officer at CE4A.
The core aim of signing the MOU is to establish a strong partnership in allowing both parties to collectively implement and promote renewable energy in The Sudan.
According to Eng. Samia Faisal, “The 3 months of hard work and negotiations between CE4A and the NERC has certainly paid off with the signing of the MOU.” She adds saying “We at CE4A along with NERC, look forward to work together in various areas concerning renewable energies. Key ones being: Capacity building of youth, training activities, proposals’ writing for securing funds and consultancy services within the country.”
Emphasizing further on CE4A’s aim from the partnership and which aligns with the platform’s mission in terms of empowering the next generation of renewable energy professionals within the African continent, Dr. Mohamed Alhaj expressed his delight to the signing of the MOU. Furthermore he presented CE4A’s achievements since the first launch of the platform in July of 2019. Few of the achievements he mentioned included: “publishing more than 35 high quality articles, hosting 7 webinars with clean energy experts and young professionals, conducting a 3 months peer-to-peer training program for 3 African professionals and the most recent in being recognized by the UN as one of the top 98 youth based initiatives supporting SDG7 in the world and the only one existing in The Sudan.”
We are very excited to work closely with Sudan National Energy Research Center in promoting renewable energy in Sudan and also develop capacity-building programs for students, young professionals, and researchers

Dr. Ratibah from NERC saw in the signing of the MOU a great opportunity for conducting joint projects and through CE4A to reflect upon the Research Center’s past, present activities and future programmes on various social media platforms.
Concluding the event and translating the partnership into actions, both NERC and CE4A will be launching soon and within the coming weeks an Abstract Paper Competition! So stay tuned and make sure not to miss such an opportunity!
